Superhero high school manga “My Hero Academia” just gave fans a scare with its latest chapter. Chapter 193 gave fans a deeper dive into the history of Deku's One For All superpower by introducing the superpower's first wielder.
To cut to the chase, One For All, the original quirk, was All For One's own brother whom the quirk supervillain was trying to turn over to his own side. Due to the apparent quirklessness of the original One For All, All For One was trying to make his brother stronger, hoping that the strength would convince him to join All For One's reign.
In the dream, we are shown scenes where All For One manipulates people to do his bidding – granting them favors in return for their loyalty. But All For One's sinister agenda isn't limited to manipulating people to serve him. All For One is also shown to use his power to turn people – quirk or no quirk – against each other.
Fans can expect Chapter 194 to focus on Deku trying to figure out the importance of the dream that One For All has shared with him. It opens up the question whether all the previous wielders of the One For All superpower have been exposed to the dream by One For All. While a definite mystery worthy of a whole story arc, fans may want Deku to proceed with caution as there is another sinister possibility to the dream. It is possible that One For All may still be serving All For One by choosing people who can increase the One For All power only to be consumed by his brother.
“My Hero Academia” is available in the Shonen Jump weekly, which recently released a double issue last Aug. 6. Fans of the series can catch the next chapter on Aug. 20 when Shonen Jump resumes publication.
