Swedish fungi protein company Mycorena is collaborating with climate impact platform CarbonCloud to assess the footprint of its products.
Last year, Mycorena used CarbonCloud's SaaS solution to track its emissions at a pilot production facility to better understand its environmental performance.
Mycorena, which produces its fungi-based protein, Promyc, through fermentation, has been identifying ways to reduce its environmental impact.
According to Ramkumar Nair, founder and CEO of Mycorena, their new collaborative effort with CarbonCloud allows them to document the climate impact of their production process.
Nair said that it can show how Promyc can make a difference compared to other common and market-available food protein ingredients, emphasizing that the fundamental technology and products behind its innovation are geared toward changing how food is produced today.
