With Anthony Davis joining LA Lakers, he and LeBron James are now expected to lead the team to championships in the upcoming season. But then, it was said that it was not just the two who are getting attention in the team because, during their training, Avery Bradley is also being talked about a lot.
It was said that in last week’s training camp, Bradley’s name was often mentioned due to his awesome performance. LeBron James also praised the former Boston Celtics guard for his defensive work just after three practice sessions. Davis was also said to be in awe and praised Bradley by saying, “He’s very special on the defensive end, and for me to see it every day has been great.”
LeBron ready to give way for Davis to shine
In any case, James is rooting for Davis, and he is ready to give way so that the younger player can step up in a big way and help the team to rise. This is what Davis should do anyway if he wants to be recognized even more and become the new face of the Lakers. James is even very willing to step back and pass the baton to him so he can lead the squad with help from the veteran star players.
Earlier this month, sources told Yahoo! Sports that when Anthony Davis was confirmed to join the team, LeBron James promptly talked with the higher-ups in the team management, and he told them what he thinks. The superstar player explained to them why it is important to turn Davis as the focal point of the team’s offensive identity.
Upon learning about what his senior did, Davis responded. “I’ve kind of been a focal-point player my whole career, especially in New Orleans,” he told the publication. “But first off, to have a guy like LeBron, someone of his caliber, go tell management and ownership and the coaches that he wants me to be the focal point is an honor.”
New trio expected to lead LA Lakers
Meanwhile, even before Davis joined the Lakers, Bleacher Report opined that the team needed him if they want someone to help LeBron. And now that it happened, they are expected to work well together with Bradley and lead the Laker back into the playoffs.
