The NBA and the French government agreed to create a working group of senior executives that will coordinate with the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) to develop plans and implement initiatives to grow the sport in France and Africa.
The NBA and France’s elite LNB league will share best practices across team and league business and basketball operations to help grow the LNB.
The two leagues will also explore exhibition games and ancillary events featuring NBA, LNB and Basketball Africa League (BAL) teams and players and conduct grassroots basketball development programming.
The collaboration will culminate with a formal partnership to be announced in conjunction with the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
France and the NBA will also further invest in basketball infrastructure in Africa, including multipurpose facilities that can host BAL and NBA games.
