Tiger Woods is the latest personality in the sports field to launch his own NFT collection. The professional golfer has entered the blockchain venture with the release of 10,000 non-fungible tokens through Autograph, an NFT company that was co-founded by Tom Brady.
According to USA Today, Autograph will be launching 10,000 digital images of Tiger Woods, and these will be put up for sale and sold exclusively on DraftKings Marketplace, one of the best places on the blockchain to buy the latest NFT releases from celebrities.
It was revealed that the golfer is debuting his NFTs with Autograph but Upper Deck is also a partner in this release. Apparently, the craze for digital currency and assets is growing every day, and more celebrities and famous personalities are joining in.
In the world of sports, Tiger Woods has joined Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles, Derek Jeter, Tony Hawk, and Wayne Gretzky in the list of athletes to launch NFTs via Autograph. They are now part of the said NFT platform’s advisory board.
“The intersection of sports and technology is such an interesting space to me, and I am thrilled to partner with Autograph as they lead the charge by ushering a new era of digital collecting,” the publication quoted Tiger Woods as saying with the introduction of his NFTs. “It’s been an honor to join their advisory board among so many iconic athletes, and I’m looking forward to bringing fans closer to my memorable sports moments at an accessible price, and to the game I respect so much.”
At any rate, Woods’ premier edition NFTs was unveiled on Tuesday, Sept. 21, via Autograph and DraftKings marketplace. On Sept. 28, the digitally autographed versions of his non-fungible tokens will follow and be released on the same platforms.
Tiger Woods’ first batch of digital photos are already on the market, and these can be purchased at prices ranging from $12 to $100. It was reported that there is also an option to buy a 375 limited edition of these NFTs and comes with a $100 tag price.
For the digital cards with the athlete’s signature, they can be bought starting at $250 with $1,500 as the highest price. Meanwhile, for people who will buy the pre-season Access Pass NFT, they will be given preferential access to a future NFT drop from Autograph, as per Fox Business.
