NVIDIA expanded its Isaac robotics platform on Oct. 21 and introduced a research humanoid with Agile Robots, seeking to give developers a more integrated way to train and test robot skills.
The announcement at GTC Berlin brings together a physical test platform and software for simulation, training and deployment. NVIDIA said the Agile ONE SN humanoid is scheduled to become available in early 2027. Its Isaac Lab 3.0 robot-learning framework is generally available now.
The robot combines an Agile ONE S body with NVIDIA’s Isaac GR00T software and Jetson Thor onboard computer. NVIDIA lists it at 1.4 meters tall, with 31 degrees of freedom in the body and a payload of 3 kilograms per arm. Its two WUJI Hand 2 hands each have 20 degrees of freedom. Integration with NVIDIA’s Halos safety system is planned.
Isaac Lab 3.0 supports training with physics engines including Newton and PhysX. It reached general availability after NVIDIA introduced it in early access in March. Built on Holoscan, the new open-source Isaac OS is intended to coordinate a robot’s sensing, AI and controls. NVIDIA also is releasing three open-source reference workflows for DGX Station, covering synthetic-data generation, manipulation training and model refinement.
For simulated environments, NVIDIA introduced SimReady Central with more than 2,000 prepared assets for robotics and factories. The models include properties such as mass, friction and collision geometry that developers need for simulations. The Human 1M Dataset combines 3D hand-tracking records with video from three synchronized viewpoints. NVIDIA said the full dataset is accessible to Cosmos Coalition partners.
NVIDIA presents the releases as a way to reduce the work of connecting separate tools for data collection, simulation, training and deployment. The company introduced a different Isaac GR00T reference humanoid in May, using a Unitree robot, Sharpa hands and Jetson Thor. It has also described earlier adoption of its simulation tools by industrial robot makers.
Agile Robots founder and CEO Zhaopeng Chen told Reuters that he expects production of the Agile ONE S and Agile ONE SN to begin by the end of 2026. He projected 1,000 to 2,000 units across the two models in 2027. NVIDIA has given no specific date beyond early 2027 for the Agile ONE SN’s availability.
