EINDHOVEN, the Netherlands, Feb. 23, 2016 -- NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ:NXPI) ("NXP") announced today that its subsidiary, NXP B.V., together with NXP Funding LLC, has issued redemption notices for an aggregate principal amount of US$200 million of its US$500 million outstanding 3.5% senior notes due 2016 (the “Notes”). This partial redemption will be made as permitted under Article 3 of the indenture dated as of September 24, 2013 and paragraph 5 of the Notes. The funds for this redemption will come from available surplus cash.
“Our action today is a tangible example of NXP’s consistent commitment to an effective approach to capital allocation, which we believe benefits all of our shareholders. We will continue to actively allocate capital in a balanced manner – both through our on-going open market share repurchases, as well as proactive reductions in our aggregate debt,” said Dan Durn, NXP Chief Financial Officer.
