‘Nashville’ season 5’s episode 3, titled "Let's Put it Back Together Again," is set to follow Juliette as she continues to cope with being the only survivor in the plane crash. Meanwhile, Avery will struggle to work with producing a young internet sensation, who is turning out to be a diva.
The synopsis for "Let's Put it Back Together Again" posted on TV Guide reads, “Maddie (Lennon Stella) begins an internship at a recording studio and meets a street musician; Avery (Jonathan Jackson) struggles producing a young YouTube sensation; Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) meets her guardian angel.”
The incoming episode will follow Juliette as she struggles to cope with survivors’ guilt. The new season picked up after the events of Juliette’s plane crash from the season 4 finale. Juliette survived after her plane crashed in a field just outside of Nashville.
Juliette continues to recuperate from shattered vertebrae and leg injuries sustained from the crash and needs a wheelchair since becoming paralyzed from the waist down.
The promo to episode 5 opens with Juliette upset as she asks, “I’ve been a terrible person. Why did I survive when everybody else didn’t?” She is then told that she was given a second shot at life in order to change for the better.
Meanwhile, Avery seems to be in a difficult position as he works with a young internet sensation in the production studio. She challenges him about being an “influencer” and has demands that need to be met. It seems that Deacon’s (Charles Esten) breakout star is turning out to be quite the diva.
In the last scene, Rayna (Connie Britton) tells Maddie to make amends with her dad. She tells her daughter, “You broke his heart.”
During an interview with Variety, Esten teased Deacon and Rayna’s relationship in season 5. He revealed, “We have more time within scenes. The more lyrical pace means there’s time for silence, for unspoken moments, meaningful glances, or a touch on the arm. Things like those that are not driving the story and the exposition of the story, but are really wordless ways of showing the deep connection that exists.”
Esten continued, “Those have always been the best moments between Deacon and Rayna, I believe, from the very beginning. With this new pace, this new home, and these new writers, we’re able to explore that even more and in a way that’s different because there’s a safety between them now.”
He added, “Sometimes people are in different stages of life, and that’s really where Deacon and Rayna are. There’s a bit of exploration around that, as they work to create new material, and how you turn those life experiences into something beautiful.”
‘Nashville’ season 5’s episode 3, titled "Let's Put it Back Together Again," is scheduled to air on CMT on January 5, 2017. It will be followed by episode 4, titled "Leap of Faith," scheduled for January 19.
