KT Corp. has developed an internet-of-things (IoT) sensor-backed management platform dubbed ‘Smart Green’ to manage grass cultivation at golf courses.
The service is now being supplied to the Jungwon Golf Club in Chungju, North Chungcheong province.
Smart Green automatically analyzes the state of the grass at golf courses and ensures the optimal application of fertilizers and agricultural chemicals.
The IoT sensor buried in the soil measures the grass’ temperature, humidity, and acidity and sends the information to an algorithm-based platform for use in the analysis of the state of the grass.
KT, a major mobile carrier, plans to provide the smart green service to football stadiums and baseball parks.
