The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has placed its presidential ticket in senior roles on a 2027 campaign council chaired by former Bayelsa State Gov. Henry Seriake Dickson, creating a national structure for election organizing.
Presidential candidate Peter Obi will serve as co-chairman. Vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was named co-vice chairman, and NDC National Chairman Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe was named vice chairman.
The party also appointed NDC National Secretary Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu as council secretary and Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim as director-general of the presidential campaign.
The NDC said the council would organize campaign activity across Nigeria and build support for the party’s vision. It pledged to focus its campaign on issues but announced no specific policy proposals.
The appointments bring the party’s candidates and national leadership into the same campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election. The NDC confirmed Obi and Kwankwaso as its presidential ticket at a May 30 convention.
The party is scheduled to inaugurate the council Oct. 26, after postponing an earlier unveiling.
