Former Ohio Democratic state Sen. Nina Turner urged her party to keep up its election effort through the Nov. 3 U.S. midterms, even as a national survey showed Democratic congressional candidates ahead among registered voters.

“You gotta fight all the way through,” Turner said on CBS News’ “The Takeout.” CBS News described her remarks as a warning to Democrats against overconfidence.

An NBC News Decision Desk and SurveyMonkey poll found that 55% of registered voters chose a Democratic congressional candidate in their district, while 45% chose a Republican. EconoTimes previously reported the survey results.

The poll collected online responses from 19,135 U.S. adults between Sept. 28 and Oct. 12. Its estimated margin of error of 2.6 percentage points applied to the full adult sample. The 10-point difference among registered voters measures national preference, not how many seats either party will win.

Voters are scheduled to cast ballots Nov. 3 in elections that could determine which party controls the House and Senate.
