Nokia Corp. will install its small cell AirScale Indoor systems that allow seamless 5G connectivity between indoor and outdoor locations and can be easily upgraded to accommodate future network expansion for South Korean mobile carrier LG Uplus' 5G network.
The Finnish telecom equipment giant will deploy its small next-generation indoor 5G equipment in indoor locations across the country, including shopping malls and office buildings.
South Korean telecom operators have been expanding 5G coverage in indoor locations amid complaints of non-availability of a network.
It was reported late last year that 5G was available in 61.8 percent of 4,516 major public buildings across South Korea's 85 cities.
LG Uplus uses 5G equipment from Nokia, Samsung Electronics Co., Ericsson, and Huawei.
