Russia may supply 500,000 metric tons of diesel in October under an arrangement intended to ease fuel prices, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said Friday, adding that three tankers were bound for the Atlantic.

Novak said the shipments were part of an arrangement to serve U.S. and global markets. President Donald Trump’s announcement earlier this month called for 300,000 metric tons in October, with additional supplies later.

The U.S. administration temporarily suspended restrictions on Russian fuel. The sanctions had been imposed to limit revenue available to Moscow during its war against Ukraine.

Separately, Reuters reported Friday that vessel-tracking data showed a Russian diesel cargo aboard a tanker headed to New York. EconoTimes previously covered shipping data pointing to a Nov. 7 arrival in New York.
