One of the best things about the “Now You See Me” movie franchise is its star-studded cast. Isla Fisher was not able to join the second movie. But fans are now hopeful that she would make a comeback as Henley Reeves while the latest addition, Lizzy Caplan, also returning as Lula in “Now You See Me 3.”
Unfortunately, there are no specific updates on the development of “Now You See Me 3” for a long time now. But Fisher and Caplan’s return has long been rumored.
‘Now You See Me 3’ cast: Will Hensley and Atlas reunite?
There was not much news about Fisher’s non-appearance in the second film, but some reports claim she was not able to join the production because she was pregnant at the time of filming. The sequel also mainly filmed in two locations far from each other, Macau and London, which might have made it even more impossible for Fisher to join. But since that was the only reported reason, many movie fans have been hoping to see her back as the High Priestess in “Now You See Me 3.”
The second movie also did not dig deeper into the absence of Hensley. The remaining characters only mentioned that Fisher’s Hensely and Jesse Eisenberg’s Atlas had an off-screen falling out. Without much intricacies thrown into it, it may be easier to write Hensley back in for “Now You See Me 3.” However, there were also rumors that Fisher possibly left after experiencing a stunt accident while filming for the first movie.
‘Now You See Me 3’ plot: Lula and Jack’s love story continues?
While fans missed Hensley, Lula was a fun addition to the Four Horsemen. Right at the beginning, it was obvious that she had a mini crush on Dave Franco’s Jack Wilder. And by the end of the second movie, it was not hard to see that something romantic is going on between these characters. That is one thing to look forward to in “Now You See Me 3.”
One of the last updates about “Now You See Me 3” was reported in 2016 when Lionsgate purportedly reached out to Neil Widener and Gavin James to write the script. There were also rumors that Benedict Cumberbatch is going to be the newest addition to the cast. But more than two years had gone by, and fans have yet to hear about the development of the third movie.
