Two people died in Kyiv and another was killed in Russia’s Bryansk region on Oct. 21, as officials on both sides reported overnight strikes that caused civilian casualties.

Kyiv’s health department said two other people were injured in a Russian attack in the capital’s Sviatoshynskyi district and taken to hospitals. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said a fire broke out on the apartment building’s 20th floor, where rescuers later found the two bodies.

Bryansk Gov. Yegor Kovalchuk reported one death and two injuries after a drone hit a car in Klimovo. He identified the dead passenger as 19 and the wounded occupants as 21. Kovalchuk’s post did not identify the drone operator, leaving responsibility unverified.

Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched 186 drones and an unspecified number of Iskander-K cruise missiles overnight. It said air defenses had neutralized 150 drones in an initial count. Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces intercepted 373 Ukrainian drones.

Kyiv police had reported one woman killed and eight people injured in an Oct. 19 attack on the capital.
