Al Jazeera reported Oct. 28 that oil from a damaged Strait of Hormuz tanker had reached beaches in the United Arab Emirates, while Ras Al Khaimah's public beaches remained closed under an earlier order, raising environmental concerns.

The closure predates the latest report. Ras Al Khaimah Public Services Department and Ras Al Khaimah Police General Headquarters announced the order in a joint notice on Oct. 24, directing residents and visitors to stay away from coastal areas. Authorities have not set a reopening date.

Al Jazeera reported that oil from the damaged tanker reached UAE beaches. The outlet also said Ras Al Khaimah's public beaches remained closed pending further notice, amid environmental concerns over the spill.

The report updates earlier spill-related access restrictions in other emirates. EconoTimes previously reported beach measures in Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah as authorities responded to the spill, alongside the Ras Al Khaimah order.
