FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 01, 2016 -- OmniComm Systems, Inc. (OTCQX:OMCM), a leading global provider of clinical data management technology, has been selected to provide electronic data capture (EDC) services to a major research hospital in the U.S. Under the terms of a five-year, $8.4 million agreement, the research hospital named OmniComm Systems’ TrialMaster® EDC system and related services as the institution’s enterprise EDC solution across its entire portfolio of clinical research programs.
The research facility — a major institution seeking to develop cures and treatments for cancer and other catastrophic diseases — selected OmniComm’s TrialMaster to standardize clinical development programs and bring greater operational efficiency, speed and quality to the hospital’s clinical trials.

OmniComm’s expertise in integrating electronic medical record (EMR) systems was another important factor in the decision. Data captured in the research hospital’s EMR system will automatically import into TrialMaster. This comprehensive eSource solution will help the institution realize the following:

- Reduce transcription errors.
- Enable real-time entry of electronic source data during subject visits.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data.
The ability to increase productivity and efficiency, while reducing costs, requires the integration of the clinical trial management system (CTMS) and EDC system. Integrating these systems ensures that shared datapoints are reported correctly in both systems, thereby saving time and reducing the chance for errors. The integration between TrialMaster and the hospital’s CTMS will allow the institution to proactively manage activities, such as site initiation, patient recruitment, patient safety, site payments, capacity planning and risk-based monitoring.
