When readers last saw Luffy, he was busy trying to learn a technique using Haki that would essentially enable him to form an invisible shield on his skin. In “One Piece” Chapter 939, it would appear that he will finally get what he wants via the old man he was trying to protect. It turns out that Hyogoro was not the former leader of the Yakuza for nothing and he might even be stronger than Luffy.
As GamesNGuides notes, Hyogoro will be showing off his powers in “One Piece” Chapter 939 that over two decades of imprisonment have seemingly stripped away. Looking at the old man’s small frame and shaking figure, one would not normally associate him with the concept of strength. However, he is expected to demonstrate the technique that Luffy is after and defeat the Armadillo Smile user in the next chapter.
This will show the Straw Hat captain that the old man didn’t really need his protection and that he might even be stronger than Luffy currently is. If so, Queen is in for a world of hurt since he might not have stood a chance even against the stretchy protagonist without the shield Haki. “One Piece” Chapter 939 might just showcase this in full.
On that note, there are indications that Hyogoro could know more about what is going on in Wano than he is letting on. There are still a ton of mysteries with regards to how Kaido and Orochi were able to take power from the powerful samurai nation and its former ruler, after all. Perhaps “One Piece” Chapter 939 will provide some more answers.
For those wondering if “One Piece” Chapter 939 is coming out next week, the answer is yes. The chapter will be dropping on Monday, April 15, so fans might want to keep an eye out for that.
