Fans of the manga-turned-anime series just witnessed a great sacrifice by Pedro in the previous episode. The acts of heroism will continue in “One Piece” episode 850 will continue and, this time, it is Luffy’s turn to make a sacrifice.
“One Piece” episode 850 is titled “I’ll Be Back — Luffy, Deadly Departure.” This title is very telling regarding what is going to happen next in the anime series. Currently, the protagonists led by Luffy are still struggling to escape Whole Cake Island and Big Mom’s fleet. However, the intensifying battles also hint that this arc is about to end.
To simply put it, Big Mom’s pirates are all over the Whole Cake Island, making it almost impossible for the Straw Hats to escape. In the preview for “One Piece” episode 850, the battle against Big Mom and his army apparently continues and will reach new heights with the threats that Katakuri poses.
In the “One Piece” episode 850 preview, a mourning Carrot will be filled with rage and launches attacks against Katakuri. In another scene, fans can expect that the enemy’s canons are still aiming to total destroy Sunny.
However, the main attraction for “One Piece” episode 850 is Luffy’s sacrifice of pulling Katakuri out of the Straw Hats’ way through the mirror to face him in a one-on-one battle. Without Katakuri, the remaining Straw Hats get a chance to launch Sunny to the air using the Coup de Burst. But this would also mean that the pirates may escape the Whole Cake Island without Luffy.
Meanwhile, escaping the enemies in “One Piece” episode 850 remains one great challenge. Spoiler reports hint that the Straw Hats — without Luffy — will be able to launch the Coup de Burst. However, Big Mom and her crew will still be able to catch them and a follow-up battle is expected to happen on Cacao Island.
On the other hand, Luffy is also not in a good situation during his fight with Katakuri in “One Piece” episode 850. Katakuri is expected to unleash his ability to replicate Luffy’s moves and use them with stronger damage.
With the Whole Cake Island arc expected to end soon, it is interesting how the Straw Hats will be able to turn this ugly situation around and in their favor. “One Piece” episode 850 is officially airing on Aug. 19.
