“One Piece” episode 864 is expected to be one of the most exciting installments of the Whole Cake Island arc. Luffy is back to fighting Katakuri and he will soon unleash the Gear Fourth: Snakeman power. Meanwhile, the other Straw Hats pirates are facing a literally fiery Big Mom.
The Yonko and Charlotte family matriarch has finally approached the Straw Hats fleet. Unfortunately for the protagonists, it happened when the villain is donning a literal hair of fire. This means the Straw Hats are facing the risk of having the Thousand Sunny catch fire in “One Piece” episode 864.
While Big Mom and her children will manage to burn the sails, Jinbe’s quick thinking will save the day in “One Piece” episode 864. Big Mom attacks Jinbe that will throw him to the ocean. But Jinbe sees this as an opportunity to use the Fishman Karate technique. He directs a large volume of seawater onto the Thousand Sunny to prevent it from being burned down and knocking out Big Mom in the process.
The rest of the Straw Hats pirates will come up with a plan of using Zeus’ own lighting power to temporarily tame Big Mom in “One Piece” episode 864. This will allow the protagonists to avoid further attacks from Big Mom but she will have Prometheus follow the Thousand Sunny, which means this battle is not over yet at this point.
As mentioned, Luffy has returned to the Mirro-World where his battle with Katakuri continues. If “One Piece” episode 864 will squeeze in plots from more than a couple of manga chapters, viewers might eventually witness the Straw Hats captain use his Gear Fourth Snakeman.
Meanwhile, what’s certainly included in “One Piece” episode 864 is Flampe Charlotte’s attempt at helping Katakuri. She is Katakuri’s sister envious for his attention and also his biggest fan. So seeing Luffy endure a battle with Katakuri for this long is not a pretty sight for her. Flampe sends her snipers in the Mirro-World to simultaneously fire at Luffy.
The airing of “One Piece” episode 864 is affected by a one-week delay to give way to a two-part premiere event for the return of "Dragon Ball Super." So instead of Dec. 2, fans can expect a new episode on Sunday, Dec. 9.
