The upcoming “One Piece” chapter 987 has been predicted to show unfortunate events, and it is possible that a character will die. This is because the editor of the manga was said to have felt very emotional after receiving the story to be published from Eiichiro Oda.
Since the Onigashima raid has finally started in “One Piece” chapter 987, it is likely that someone is leaving. It could be a major character since the editor was very affected by the scenes.

In any case, the previous “One Piece” chapter 986 titled “My Name” showed Momonosuke on the stage as Kaido has ordered for him to be executed. The villain also made an offer so he could remain alive. He told Momo that he can spare his life if he denies he is Kozuki Oden’s son.
However, despite the prospect of losing his life, Momo firmly stated that his father is Oden and the future Shogun of Wano. Kaido was furious after hearing this declaration and wants to kill the boy fast.
Yamato witnessed this with Luffy and she wants to intervene. Luffy stopped her because once she shows up, the battle will begin and this is not for her to do. The Red Scabbards are also in the mansion and after they have gotten closer to the state where the execution has been set up, they attacked Kaido and the Onigashima war officially began.

Ussop was leading the straw hats into the battle and with the chaos, Luffy took the chance to remove Yamato’s handcuffs. Underneath the stage, Carrot and Nami face Big Mom and their fate will be revealed in “One Piece” chapter 987.
Plot prediction
As posted on Reddit’s page for “One Piece” spoilers, it was said that Kaido will transform into his Zoan form so he will not fall in the pond outside the castle. The Scabbards concealed their identities by pretending to be waiters and more so they were able to enter the castle and attack.
Amid the battle, Kaido will also use his dragon form to fight in the banquet hall that has been infiltrated by the Scabbards. It is yet to see who will die in this fight but there could be more than once character who will perish.

Fans can read “One Piece” chapter 987 on Aug. 11, as per One Piece Wiki. As for the raw scans, it will be out by Aug. 8.
