A major change is happening in “One Piece” episode 954 that directly involves Zoro. The samurai will agree to return Shusui to Wano’s possession but in exchange for a sword that Oden Kozuki once used during a historic battle.
‘One Piece’ episode 954 spoilers, official preview
“One Piece” episode 954 picks up from an action-packed encounter between Zoro and Gyukimaru. It has been the latter’s mission to guard the graves and took upon himself to confiscate the Shusui sword from Zoro. Gyukimaru argued that the sword was a national treasure of Wano and the country started to deteriorate soon after Shusui was stolen.
Zoro is not aware of this story about the Shusui, but it has been his trusted weapon for a long time now that letting it go will not be easy. However, Hiyori will propose an exchange in “One Piece” episode 954 that Zoro will soon find to be fair.
The official preview of “One Piece” episode 954 mentions something about a legendary sword that was once used by Oden. This sword is called Enma, which Oden left as an heirloom to Hiyori. It used to be Oden’s staple weapon and has been regarded as the only weapon to have ever wounded Kaido.
“One Piece” episode 954’s video teaser also hints at a brief Oden flashback. Anime fans will get a brief peek into the time when Oden fought Kaido and managed to injure him. This should establish just how strong Oden was and should build more questions for anime-only fans on how Kaido and Orochi managed to defeat him 20 years ago.
‘One Piece’ episode 954 release date, where to watch
Beyond “One Piece” episode 954, it will take some time for Zoro to get used to his new sword. Enma, by itself, is packed with immense power that Zoro will have to learn how to control so he can use it to its full potential. This also begs the question of what awaits for Zoro later on once the war in Wano starts now that he wields a very important sword Oden once used to protect the country.
“One Piece” episode 954 will be released on Sunday, Dec. 13. New episodes are added weekly to official streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll, Funimation, and AnimeLab.
