There is still a total silence on the future of the anime series, specifically the release date window of "One Punch Man" season 3. However, a new original video animation (OVA) is confirmed to be released this month making the wait a little less dreadful.
More season 2 OVAs await as fans anticipate 'One Punch Man' season 3 could be announced after all new OVAs are released
Despite the mixed feedback on the animation quality and pacing of the second season, it is safe to bet that every fan of the series is still looking forward to hearing about the production of "One Punch Man" season 3. However, history may repeat itself and fans might need to be a little more patient while waiting for the official announcement of the third installment.
Luckily, fans will have something else to look forward to aside from the "One Punch Man" season 3 announcement. It now appears that each volume of the season 2 Blu-ray/DVD copy will be released with an OVA just like in the first season. Volume 3 will be released on Dec. 25 along with an anime-exclusive that features Saitama and Genos.
The ninth overall OVA is called "Genos and Memory Loss." The title is quite self-explanatory, but the promo clip shows there is a hilarious premise of the upcoming 10-minute OVA. While watching TV, Saitama tries not to put too much force into opening a bag of chips. However, he ends up doing so sending the pieces of his snack into the air. To stop Genos from eating them all, Saitama punches him right in the head causing his faithful follower to lose his memory.
'One Punch Man' season 3 could be announced after all new OVAs are released
The three remaining volumes of season 2 will be released in each of the following months until March 2020. It has not been announced yet, but each copy will likely have an exclusive OVA as well. It is then possible that "One Punch Man" season 3 would not be confirmed anytime before all season 2 home media content is released.
That puts the earliest possible release date of "One Punch Man" season 3 to late 2020. However, considering the long hiatus between seasons 1 and 2, fans should also be prepared to wait for up to a couple more years before new episodes arrive.
