‘Outlander’ season 3 has recently released a brand new official trailer featuring Jamie pining over his lost love, Claire, who has traveled back to her own time. In the trailer, Jamie promises to find Claire despite the fact that the two of them are already living in different centuries.
Season 3’s widely anticipated official trailer was finally released and it showed a montage of Jamie and Claire separated by centuries and living different lives, according to Variety. It seems that although Jamie survived the seemingly hopeless Battle of Culloden, he is struggling to continue living without Claire.
Meanwhile, Claire is also trying her best to rekindle the relationships she left behind during her time in the 18th century, specifically relationships with her preset-day husband Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) and her daughter with Jamie, Brianna Randall/MacKenzie Fraser (Sophie Skelton).
The trailer shows the moment Jamie managed to send Claire back to her time through the stones as well as the aftermath of their separation. In one scene, Claire is seen attending her daughter’s graduation as she tries her best to assimilate back in her time. Jamie, on the other hand, looks to be having a difficult time in his post-war situation.
Jamie then promises to find Claire by the end of the trailer. He says in a long monologue, “I have lied, killed, and broken trust. But when I stand before God I’ll have one thing to say to weigh against all the rest. Lord you gave me a rare woman. God, I loved her well…I will find you. I promise."
Despite their desperate circumstances, Jamie and Claire are set to reunite as older versions of themselves in the new season. Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire in the series, even teased during a previous interview that her reunion with Sam Heughan’s Jamie will be a steamy one.
According to Radio Times, the upcoming season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s third novel in the ‘Outlander’ series, titled “Voyager.” It will also feature Jamie and Claire going on a sea journey. Filming has commenced in South Africa for the sea voyage scenes after production was transferred from Scotland.
‘Outlander’ season 3 is expected to premiere on Starz on September 2017. It will consist of 13 episodes. Filming and production is currently ongoing in Cape Town, South Africa.
