Two Sigma Investments co-founder John Overdeck told a New Jersey divorce court he wants voting parity with co-founder David Siegel amid a leadership dispute, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Bloomberg Law reported that Overdeck has proposed paying his estranged wife, Laura Overdeck, $723 million. She seeks 35% of the value of his Two Sigma interest, which her side values at $6.2 billion, the outlet reported. That claim would amount to about $2.2 billion at her valuation. Both figures reflect the parties’ positions, not a court finding.
The Journal reported in October that the conflict between the founders remained active. A request to release confidential Two Sigma records also drew Overdeck’s opposition at an Aug. 19 hearing. He feared Siegel could use the information in their dispute, the Journal reported.
Two Sigma said in 2024 that Overdeck and Siegel would leave their co-chief executive posts on Sept. 30 and remain co-chairmen. It named Carter Lyons and Scott Hoffman to run daily operations.
In a March 31, 2026, filing, Two Sigma said Siegel had designated Seth Platt an executive manager on March 16, 2026. The filing documented a dispute at that time over Platt’s claim to a co-chief executive role. It said Overdeck had taken Platt’s attempted removal of co-CEO Carter Lyons to dispute resolution; the removal required management committee agreement or arbitration.
A Blackstone fund filing with the SEC put assets under management by Two Sigma and affiliated managers at about $80 billion as of April 1, 2026. That measure included employee and proprietary capital.
Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. said in its annual report that the founders’ disagreements had complicated Two Sigma’s efforts to recruit and retain staff and might eventually hinder its work for the TS Hamilton Fund. Hamilton had $2.2 billion, or 37% of its invested assets, in that fund as of Dec. 31, 2025.
A Two Sigma spokeswoman told the Journal that investor demand remained strong and said the firm had been open with investors about the founders’ disagreements.
