“Overlord” Season 5 is one of the most eagerly anticipated anime shows. Given the popularity and success of past installments as well as the quantity of material left over from the light book series on which it is based, fans anticipate a return of the series.
The anime, known as Ōbārōdo in Japan, is based on Kugane Maruyama's light book series, which he illustrated. The series, which premiered in July 2015, was created by the animation company Madhouse and revolves around a man who becomes a part of the game he plays and proceeds to explore the new universe while attempting to solve a mystery. Here is everything we know about “Overlord” Season 5.
‘Overlord’ Season 5 Release Date
Unfortunately, there is currently no release date for the next book of the light novel series, thus “Overlord” Season 5 is expected to arrive around 2025 or later, per EpicFlix. It's probable that the production team is preoccupied with completing the next “Overlord: Holy Kingdom Arc” film first.
Although it was announced in May 2021, no release date has been set, but we do know that it will adapt Volumes 12 and 13 of the source material. If the film is released in 2024, and “Overlord” Season 5 is announced soon after, the fifth season will most likely premiere in late 2025 or early 2026. However, it should be noted that this is all speculation, and fans will have to wait for an official word from Madhouse regarding the production of “Overlord” Season 5.
‘Overlord’ Season 5 Cast
Satoshi Hino is well-known for his role as Ainz Ooal Gown / Momonga in the “Overlord” anime series, which will most likely continue in the upcoming “Overlord The Movie: Holy Kingdom” film and the probable “Overlord” Season 5, per The Economic Times. However, nothing has been formally announced in terms of casting, but we will update this section with the latest information as it becomes available.
‘Overlord’ Season 5 Spoilers
If “Overlord” Season 5 is confirmed, the studio will most likely begin by adapting Volume 15 of the dark fantasy light novel series. The “Overlord” light novel series was licensed for English distribution by Yen Press, who offered the following description for Volume 15:
“War with the Nation of Darkness is inevitable―or so the Theocracy’s leaders believe with every part of their beings. With such an obvious threat on their borders, there’s no time to waste on lesser concerns, so they decide to eliminate the elf king who has been a thorn in their sides for too long! Meanwhile, Ainz sets out for the elf country on what he’s decided to call a paid vacation. His real goal is to create an opportunity for Aura and Mare to make some friends their age―even as the Theocracy armies march on the capital! The twins know their wise ruler has his hopes pinned on them and won’t stop until they bring this forest under the control of Ainz Ooal Gown!”
