“Ozark” season 3 has been renewed in October 2018, right after the second installment concluded. This means that Marty Byrde and his family are coming back to reveal more about how their lives were messed up by getting involved in money laundering crimes.
Jason Bateman will surely return to reprise his role as Marty Byrde in “Ozark” season 3. His acting prowess in this crime drama shone and it earned him his second nomination at the 2019 Golden Globes under the Best Performance by an Actor in TV.
For two consecutive years, he was nominated but unfortunately, he failed to win the award. Nevertheless, he deserves the nomination for his stellar performance in the series.

Filming Delay
Although the return of the show via “Ozark” season 3 has been confirmed, fans may have to wait a bit for its premiere because it has been delayed. It appears that the lead star, Jason Bateman, is taking a break after season 2 wrapped up last year.
In August 2018, the actor visited the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” and he talked about his popular drama with Ellen. He told the host that filming for ‘Ozark” season 3 was put on hold because he will be taking time off work and will be back in March.
Jason Bateman explained that he wanted to spend more time with his family because his work in “Ozark” season 3 will mean time away from his kids and wife again.
“You know, the sun does not stop coming up and down every day. And they keep getting older every day,” he told Ellen. “I've got two girls, 11 and 6. They're pretty great and I miss them a lot when I'm away."
Return Date
Since Jason Bateman stated that he will return to filming “Ozark” season 3 in two months from now, and the production of the drama may take six months or more, then it is likely that it would be back in the last quarter of 2019. Perhaps, fans will see the Byrde family again in December.
Plot and Episodes
In any case, once “Ozark” season 3 arrives, the viewers can expect more drama and plot twists as Marty Byrde and his wife Wendy’s involvement in illegal works gets deeper and more complicated. They will be at the point when it would be very hard for their family to get out of the mess since drugs and money are involved.
Lastly, “Ozark” season 3 will return with 10 episodes in all and filming will begin in a few months.
