PlayStation Plus members, especially those subscribed to the Extra and Premium tiers, have plenty of AAA games to look forward to this month. Sony announced on Wednesday that the service’s Game Catalog feature would gain major additions starting next week.
PlayStation fans may be surprised that a Bethesda game is coming to the service, but “Skyrim” headlines this month’s Game Catalog additions. Subscribers will be able to download the game’s Special Edition. Aside from the base game, this copy includes all game add-ons and newer gameplay features. This version is also one of the PlayStation games that support mods on the console.
Sony named a total of 12 games coming to the PS Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Four of them are from the “Kingdom Hearts” series, including “Kingdom Hearts 3” and “Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory.”
AAA shooter games from Ubisoft’s “Tom Clancy’s” universe will be available on PS Plus as well. The Game Catalog will offer “Rainbow Six Siege,” “The Division 2,” and “Ghost Recon Breakpoint.” While the latter two do not have a native PS5 version, they should be playable on the current-gen console through backward compatibility.
PS Plus subscribers can also download “Oddworld: Soulstorm — Enhanced Edition,” which includes the base game and additional “Toby’s Escape” game mode next week. Rounding up the list of upcoming games are the space combat shooter “Chorus,” Annapurna Interactive’s “What Remains of Edith Finch,” and the puzzle adventure “The Gardens Between.”
In the same blog post, Sony said “Earth Defense Force” games “Iron Rain” and “World Brothers,” as well as “Onee Chanbara Origin,” are also coming to PS Plus. They are not part of the titles that will be available on Nov. 15, but Sony says they will be available sometime this month.
The Game Catalog is one of the perks not available on the PS Plus Essential tier. Sony says it has up to 400 PS4 and PS5 titles, notably composed of many AAA games, that subscribers can download without additional cost. PS Plus subscriptions cost $9.99 for Essential, $14.99 for Extra, and $17.99 for Premium.
