A recent post suggests that developers might be discreetly adding the Erangel 2.0 map to the “PUBG Mobile” 0.17.0 update. Meanwhile, one thing consistent about the mobile version of “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” is the monthly release of patches that deliver bug fixes and new gameplay features, so February is expected to be release date window for the next patch.
‘PUBG Mobile’ 0.17.0 to arrive with Erangel 2.0 map?
One solid proof that the “PUBG Mobile” 0.17.0 update is on track to getting released in early February is the fact that it has been launched in beta for a few weeks now. It has also given fans the idea of what features to expect next month, and many might be disappointed after not seeing the Erangel 2.0 map in it.
However, Mr.GHOST GAMING spotted an online post made by PUBG Mobile Russia through its official Telegram channel on Thursday. It seemingly suggests that something big is happening in the “PUBG Mobile” 0.17.0 update, specifically the release of Erangel 2.0. But it is still best to take it with a pinch of salt since it is interesting why the global fan pages for the game are silent about the sought-after feature.

The Erangel 2.0 map was first previewed last August. The 30-second video shows that nothing much is being changed in the layout of the classic “PUBG” map. But the side-by-side comparisons show how the more vibrant colors and more detailed environment would make the gaming experience much better. Considering the time that has already elapsed, it is not surprising that the excitement of some fans has already turned into disappointment.

The past year shows that the latest patches are usually deployed within the first half of each month, and developers approached in quite a consistent manner. That was still the case with “PUBG Mobile” 0.16.5 in the opening of 2020, so avid fans can count on it happening again for the next update.
Fans can rely on seeing the “PUBG Mobile” 0.17.0 update go live within February. The exact release date might be announced in the coming week. While the Erangel 2.0 launch is still tentative, the “PUBG Mobile” 0.17.0 beta has confirmed that new game modes and weapons can be expected to arrive along with the opening of Royale Pass Season 12.
