Tesla's Cybercab, a self-driving robotaxi, is featured at the Petersen Museum this holiday season. The vehicle, unveiled at Tesla’s “We, Robot” event, reflects the company’s vision of autonomous transportation, offering visitors a glimpse into its pedal-free, steering-free technology.
Tesla Cybercab Takes the Spotlight at Petersen Museum
This holiday season, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is showcasing the Tesla Cybercab, Teslarati reports. Visiting the prestigious auto museum with the Cybercab appears to be a part of Tesla's ongoing marketing campaign for its autonomous robotaxi.
Cybercab prototype units have been observed in multiple U.S. and international Tesla stores in recent weeks. The vehicle was displayed at Giga New York for the facility's employees in addition to being unveiled last month during the "We, Robot" event.
Consequently, the self-driving robotaxi's visit to the Petersen Museum comes as no surprise.
Tesla Cybercab Advances Autonomous Accessibility
According to the Petersen Museum's website, the Cybercab is an element of Tesla's strategy to make autonomous vehicles more accessible to the general public.
Just like the other Cybercab units seen in Tesla stores recently, the one transported to the Petersen Museum was one of the robotaxis that took part in the "We, Robot" event that took place in October.
The following is the Cybercab description from the Petersen Museum:
“This self-driving Cybercab was one of 20 fully functional, pre-production robotaxis unveiled at Tesla’s ‘We, Robot’ event held in October 2024 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA, where attendees were able to take rides autonomously. The car seats two passengers, has dihedral doors that open automatically, and features a hatchback for cargo.”
Cybercab Exhibition Features Cutting-Edge Design
“It employs the same computer and sensing suite used in Tesla’s existing fleet of vehicles but does not require any pedals or a steering wheel to operate. Cybercab is one component of Tesla’s plan for 'democratizing transportation' with autonomous vehicles and robots."
From November 27, 2024, until January 2, 2025, the Petersen Museum will host an exhibition of the Tesla Cybercab, according to screenshots posted online by fans of electric vehicles. In the main foyer of the museum, you can see the autonomous robotaxi on display.
