Park Shin Hye reviewing JTBC new drama with Cho Seung Woo; Actress sends off Lee Hong Ki as he enlists in the army

Park Shin Hye

Park Shin Hye may be returning to television via a new drama being prepared by JTBC. It was said that the drama would also have Cho Seung Woo as the male lead and the program’s title was revealed to be “Sisyphus: The Myth.”

As per Soompi, Shin Hye and Seung Woo still need to confirm their participation in the drama since they just received the offer to star as leads. A source said that the actors are now reviewing the proposal and JTBC is hoping that they would agree.

About the new drama

Based on the description, “Sisyphus: The Myth” is a sci-fi drama that will feature lots of mysteries to be solved by Park Shin Hye and her co-actors. It will be directed by acclaimed drama producer Jin Hyuk who also worked in other hit shows including “Legends of the Blue Sea,” “City Hunter,” “Shining Inheritance” and “Doctor Stranger.”

It was said that the script is almost done as most parts are finished already. The script was said to be really high quality, so the anticipation for the drama is quite high. There is no target for the premiere date yet since the production team is still casting the actors.

Then again, the program is already gaining attention after it was revealed that Park Shin Hye is being considered as the female lead. If she will sign up for this project, this will be her first co-starring work with Cho Seung Woo.

Shin Hye bid Lee Hong Ki goodbye as he enlists

Meanwhile, this week Shin Hye also had to let one of her closest friends go, and this is because he is already set to enlist in the army. The actress sent FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki off to the barracks, where he will begin his 5-week basic training to become a soldier.

It was reported that Hong Ki enlisted in the active duty service and his training began on Sept. 30. Park Shin Hye posted pictures of their last meeting before he goes to fulfill his army duty and the actress could be seen “acting sad” since he is leaving.

Other close friends of the singer such as Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Hyo Rim also watched Hong Ki’s last performance for the musical titled “I Love You.” They all wished him well and told him to come back safely after his service. Park Shin Hye and the FTISLAND leader have been friends since 2009 after starring together in “You’re Beautiful.”
