‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’, otherwise known as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’, recently unveiled its official teaser trailer featuring Javier Bardem’s villain hunting down Johnny Depp.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the official teaser trailer for the fifth installment in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ cinematic series featured Bardem’s villainous Captain Salazar seeking to capture Depp’s Jack Sparrow. Disney unveiled the first trailer during the ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ finale.
Captain Salazar pays Brenton Thwaites’ Henry a visit in his prison cell to leave a message for Jack Sparrow saying, “Find Sparrow for me and relay a message from Captain Salazar and tell him, ‘Death comes straight for him.’ Will you say that to him? Please?” Meanwhile, the latter is yet to appear save for a wanted poster with his face on it.
According to Business Insider, Captain Salazar and his pirates of the undead are out to hunt and kill every pirate following his escape from the Devil’s Triangle. Jack Sparrow, meanwhile, believes that finding the legendary Trident of Poseidon will give him enough power to defeat the ghost pirate army through total control of the seas.
Production on the film was temporarily stopped earlier this year when Depp needed to leave the Australia film set to get surgery done in the United States after he injured his hand.
Joining Depp and Bardem in the new cast are Kaya Scodelario as the astronomer Carina Smyth and Brenton Thwaites as Henry. Geoffrey Rush is set to reprise his role as the one-legged pirate and Jack Sparrow’s enemy-turned-ally Captain Hector Barbossa.
According to Movie Web, co-director Joachim Ronning shared another version of Jack Sparrow’s wanted poster on Instagram. It was captioned, “A big thanks to the millions of you out there that have watched our new teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales! I'm so grateful for your enthusiasm and comments. ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ is an upcoming action-adventure and comedy film directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg with a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson. It is intended as the fifth installment in the film series starring Johnny Depp in the lead role. It is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films.
The film is scheduled to premiere on May 26, 2017 in the United States.
