Many Poco F1 users may have been disappointed over the seemingly sporadic rollout of the MIUI 11 update based on Android 10 – the latest version of the operating system. However, things are starting to look better this week as Poco announced the resumption of the release of said update.
Poco F1: How to and who will get the latest Android 10-based MIUI 11 update?
It can be recalled that Poco started the initial release of MIUI 11.04.0.QEJMIXM in January the included security patches due to be deployed that month. However, many Poco F1 users later complained online about not receiving the Android 10-based update.
The company has since explained they decided to suspend the release of the Android 10 update in January “due to some bug.” Poco F1 users were not given a specific timeline but were promised that the release would resume once the issues have been addressed.
That appears to be the case this week as an official post on the Mi Community announced that MIUI Global Beta Stable 11.06.0.QEJMIXM based on Android 10 was set for release. However, it will first become available to Beta Testers or called Mi Pilot users. Those who are eligible for the beta version should have received a notification for the update by now.
Meanwhile, Poco F1 users who are not registered to the beta testing program for MIUI will have to wait until the full version of the MIUI 11 update based on Android 10 is ready for public release. A specific release date was not provided, but the same community post mentioned it should ready “in a few days” if no bugs will require developers to suspend its launch.
As usual, the update with Android 10 based features on Poco F1 is free. It is also going to be installed over-the-air. Poco F1 users should make sure they have a reliable internet connection and enough battery power to avoid any interruption mid-installation.
Poco F1 specs: The popular device with a premium processor and budget-friendly price tag
These kinds of software features that allow users to have the latest Android update is one of the reasons Poco F1 is still a very popular device around the world. This is impressive, considering it was released back in August 2018.
Poco F1’s Snapdragon 845 SoC is another main factor in its popularity. The device may not appear the most stylish device in the market, but what it packs under the hood is really appealing, especially considering it costs less than $290 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration.
