‘Poldark’ season 2’s episode 10 will follow Ross as he contemplates returning to war while continuing to struggle in his strained relationship with wife Demelza. Meanwhile, locals threaten to burn down Trenwith in the incoming episode’s promo.
The synopsis for episode 10 posted on Carter Matt stated, “Dwight (Luke Norris) enlists in the navy to forget Caroline (Gabriella Wilde), and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) visits Verity (Ruby Bentall) to spend some time apart from Ross (Aidan Turner). While Ross considers rejoining his regiment, Elizabeth (Heida Reed) and George (Jack Farthing) settle into married life, but George’s plans provoke the locals to riot.”
Ross had been trying to make amends with his wife Demelza following his unfaithfulness with Elizabeth. Despite recent events, Elizabeth still went ahead and married Ross’ arch nemesis George, who moved in with her at Trenwith, according to a recap of episode 9 posted on Digital Spy.
In the incoming episode, Ross and Demelza continue to struggle with their marital issues despite having Ross’ wealth restored. Meanwhile, Dwight has joined the navy as a surgeon in order to forget Caroline and appease his broken heart.
In the sneak preview, Ross is contemplating rejoining the war, making his plans known to a bitter Demelza. He says, “It makes me wonder if I should go,” to which Demelza retorts, “Why? ‘Cause your dearest friend is running away so must you?”
Ross explains, “Because I’m a soldier… and my regiment requires me. Obviously, the thought of leaving you with Jeremy -“ Demelza cuts him off and continues to fire back passive-aggressive insults. She then reminds him of Elizabeth again.
“What would you have me do?” Ross asks. Demelza replies, “I want you to be honest, Ross. To her. To me. To yourself… Go to war, Ross… or stay home and save all of Cornwall. What it is to be married to such a great man.”
It seems that things aren’t getting better in the Poldark household and viewers may very well see Ross taking Demelza on her offer.
Meanwhile, George seems to be getting in grave trouble with the locals at Trenwith as the people are preparing to stage a riot. In the promo, the locals are seen banding together to set fire to all of Trenwith. The next scene featured an angry mob carrying torches and pitchforks, presumably out to get George.
‘Poldark’ season 2’s episode 10 is scheduled to premiere on BBC one on November 6, 2016. It was directed by Richard Senior and written by Debbie Horsfield. The popular British-American television series was created by Horsfield and based on the novels of the same name authored by Winston Graham.
