Polish economic growth likely decelerated in Q2, economy to grow 3.8 pct in H2

The Polish economic growth is expected to have decelerated in the second quarter of this year, following a solid growth of 4 percent year-on-year in the prior quarter. According to Erste Group Research, the Polish economy is likely to have slowed down to 3.8 percent year-on-year in the June quarter.

The Industrial output of the country had come in weaker in the June quarter at 4.4 percent, as compared with the 7.1 percent rise in the first quarter. Also, the country had recorded lower growth dynamics, registering a 7.5 percent growth in the second quarter, as compared with the 9.5 percent seen in the first quarter.

The Polish economy is expected to stabilize in the second half of the year, along with a slight shift in the structure – stronger growth of investment and moderating growth of private consumption. The Polish economy is expected to grow 3.8 percent year-on-year in the second half of this year, added Erste Group Research.
