WASHINGTON and PRINCETON, N.J., July 7, 2016 -- Political pundits in the DC area predict Donald Trump will select Newt Gingrich as his vice presidential candidate, with 27 percent of pundits selecting Gingrich. 23 percent of pundits predict Senator Joni Ernst will be selected, and 16 percent who believe that Governor Chris Christie will get the nod.
On the Democratic side, there was more of a consensus. 41 percent of pundits predict Senator Elizabeth Warren will be Hillary Clinton's vice presidential candidate. Julian Castro came in second with 19 percent of the vote, and Senator Tim Kaine came in third, receiving 15 percent.
The Political Precision Pundit Poll was conducted July 5 and6 by ALC and Aristotle, the providers of the newly introduced digital data for campaigns and causes: ALC-Aristotle Political Precision. Political Precision's digital data is derived from Aristotle's comprehensive voter file, which has been leveraged by every successful presidential campaign from Reagan to Obama.
According to Founder and CEO of Aristotle John Aristotle Phillips, "Beltway pundits are unusually well-informed, so we thought it would be interesting to share their collective, quantitative insights with the public at large. We also hope to draw attention to ALC-Aristotle Political Precision, which is the most comprehensive, up-to-data digital data file available, which will be critical in this turbulent election cycle."
