Prince William embraces his baldness but this caused crisis for the Royal Mint chiefs and here’s why

Prince William

Prince William had thick hair when he was younger and his old photos will prove this. These days, he barely has hair left but he seems unaffected by it. In fact, he even throws jokes about his own vanishing hair and likewise just laughs when people around him tease him on his receding hairline.

Prince William accepted his “fate”

In fact, as reported on E! News, his wife Kate Middleton and brother Prince Harry often tease him about baldness whenever they get the chance. The rest of the Royal family do it too but Prince William is a good sport that doesn’t get offended at all.

"I don't know, I'm a little bit more ginger in there than I am in real life, I think," Prince Harry said when he commented on a painting featuring the royal family. "And William got given more hair.”

The Duke of Cambridge clearly showed that he accepted his baldness when he is able to joke about it too. "He got way more hair than me, thank God!" he said when he and Kate first revealed Prince George to the public.

The Royal Mint chief’s problem

However, despite the fact that Prince William has no issues with his bald head, it is the opposite for the Royal Mint chiefs because they want him to have more hair on the commemorative coins to celebrate the four generations of the Royal family. It was said that the execs are in crisis as they are discussing how they will give the Duke of Cambridge some makeover. The original design was said to have been revised to slightly thicken the prince’s hair.

The timeline of Prince William’s receding hairline

Until high school, Prince William had thick locks but it was said that he started to lose hair in 2004. Fans noticed that his hair is thinning and he was just in his 20s and they said that what the prince has was male pattern baldness.

In 2006, his thinning hair was even more noticeable and by the time of his engagement to Kate Middleton in 2010, he already has a big “hairless” spot on his head. It was said that Prince William did not immediately embrace his baldness and it took years for him to accept that he will lose more hair in the future. He shaved his hair in 2018 and he’s very confident with his looks.
