Princess Diana previously wrote a heartbreaking letter about her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Paul Burrell, the Princess of Wales’ former butler, shared a copy of the handwritten letter on his Instagram account. According to Burrell, Princess Diana’s note is very timely especially since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be struggling post-exit.
“I love my boys to death and hope that the seeds I’ve planted will grow and bring the strength, knowledge, and stability that is needed,” Princess Diana wrote.
“As Harry and Meghan embark on a new life, I am reminded of some poignant words which Princess Diana wrote to me many years ago. They are a mother’s words of unconditional love which are as appropriate today as they were when she wrote them over 24 years ago,” Burrell captioned the snap.
Burrell forged a close friendship with Princess Diana after working for the late royal for years. The former butler has revealed some of the stories that Princess Diana has shared with him. However, Burrell was criticized by royal fans for doing so, and they have urged him to “shut up.”
One of Burrell’s most controversial stories about the Princess of Wales had to do with her relationship with her mom, Frances Shand Kydd. Princess Diana and Kydd weren’t close. In fact, Princess Diana spent most of her younger years with her dad.
While speaking with Fox News, Burrell said that he once heard Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom crying on phone. Burrell learned that Princess Diana was talking to her mom at that time.
'Then she shouted, ‘Paul, please come. Come quick.’ So, I ran up the staircase, and I found the princess crumpled in the middle of her room with the telephone to her ear, and she beckoned me to come closer. I could hear what her mother was saying,” Burrell said.
Kydd reportedly berated Princess Diana on the phone, and she also questioned her relationship with Dodi Al Fayed because he was a Muslim. Kydd also reportedly insulted Princess Diana for dating another Muslim, Hasnat Khan.
