SINGAPORE, July 25, 2017 -- Proficio, one of the fastest growing managed security service providers (MSSPs) delivering managed detection and response (MDR), today announced its newly expanded Asia presence in Hong Kong. Following quickly on the launch of its security operations center (SOC) in Barcelona, Spain, this expansion enables Proficio to broaden its presence in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and service more clients globally.
Overseeing the Hong Kong area for Proficio is David Cheng, the regional director for security consulting. Cheng has over a decade of experience in the IT security and software industry across corporate lines, including business development and solution selling. He has extensive cybersecurity experience in the banking, government, insurance, telecommunications, hospitality, retail and manufacturing industries.
“By expanding even further into APAC, Proficio is helping the region’s businesses take hold of their security posture,” stated Cheng. “We’re increasing our presence in the marketplace at a very critical time, and are up for the challenge.”
According to a recent report from Ovum, the cybersecurity threat to the Asia-Pacific region is expected to grow exponentially due to its expanding GPD and digital connectedness. With this predicted influx in cyberattacks, Proficio is focused on broadening their presence in the APAC region to help companies better combat cyber attackers by providing them with around-the-clock security monitoring, detection and automated response services.
“Proficio has expanded rapidly and our managed security services have been well-received in the APAC market,” said Alex Tok, APAC managing director at Proficio. “Given the need for managed services in this volatile cybersecurity threat landscape, we decided it was time to expand our footprint to continue to provide superior service when delivering protection, detection and response to cyber threats.”
Proficio’s Singapore SOC was established in 2014, and has built a solid foundation and reputation in the APAC region. With the company’s California headquarters hosting up to 200 employees, nearly 50 percent of Proficio’s staff will be working internationally within the next year. Proficio projects employee growth to reach 450 employees worldwide by 2018.
