It looks like “Project Runway's” return to Bravo from Lifestyle network may be a bigger reboot than fans expect. “Project Runway” season 17 is losing a significant number of its cast, with two departures in particular leaving the show's future in question.
Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn have already announced their departure from the acclaimed fashion reality show. Klum publicly posted about her and Gunn's departure from the show with a Twitter post bidding “Project Runway” goodbye.
After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying 'Auf Wiedersehen' to Project Runway, a show I was honored to host and help create. I'm incredibly proud of the show & it'll always have a special place in my heart. So excited that @TimGunn and I are partnering with Amazon for a new show! pic.twitter.com/cXNUMBmlpF

Both Heidi Klem and Tim Gunn had been with “Project Runway” since its first season. The duo's departure has given Bravo the chance to assure its fans that the network is committed to delivering “Project Runway's” upcoming installment. Bravo has released a statement bidding the duo farewell and for fans to look forward to the network announcing the replacement host and mentors for “Project Runway” season 17.
Klum and Gunn are leaving ahead of “Project Runway” season 17 for an unnamed fashion show to be produced by Amazon. There is a potential for the show to be tied to Amazon's retail capabilities to provide viewers a “shoppable experience.” In a statement, Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, welcomes Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn's relationship with Amazon and states that she looks forward to the iconic duo reaching a larger audience through Amazon Prime.
Aside from Klum and Gunn, “Project Runway” season 17 will no longer be broadcasting under the watchful eyes of veteran designer Zac Posen. Posen's exit comes as a close announcement to Klum and Gunn's departure from the show. Posen joined “Project Runway” in season 11, when Michael Kors exited as the show's designer.
Bravo has yet to announce an official air date for “Project Runway” season 17's premiere episode. Fans should wait for an official announcement of the replacement host, mentor, and designer before expecting a target premiere date for “Project Runway” season 17.
