BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 24, 2016 -- Boca Raton immigration lawyer and publisher of the online community publication BocaWatch, Al Zucaro, has announced Andrea O’ Rourke as the new editor in chief of the organization. With O’Rourke’s acceptance of the position, readers can expect the in-depth coverage of topics of concern to Boca Raton residents to be elevated even further.
“Andrea offers a historical perspective that will be very beneficial to the future of the platform. Andrea will bring BocaWatch to the next level in informing and educating the residents of the activities of their local government,” said BocaWatch Publisher Al Zucaro. “Her contributions are immeasurable.”
O’Rourke is originally from the Boston area, but has lived in Boca Raton since 1979 and in Downtown Boca since 1999. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University in Boca, and has a background in graphic and interior design for both residential and commercial projects. She has run her own company, as well as been employed by The HARID Conservatory and the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.
Dedicated to serving the community, O’Rourke holds roles as the Director and past Chairperson on the Board of the Federation of Boca Raton Homeowner Association. She is also a member of the Downtown Advisory Committees, as well as the President of the Golden Triangle Neighborhood.
“Government starts in our own backyard. I believe it is important that citizens stay aware and involved in local government,” said Andrea O’Rourke. “I have had the opportunity to represent many people in the community, therefore this platform for raising awareness of serious issues is an important responsibility. BocaWatch offers a valuable opportunity for all voices to be heard. My greatest goal as editor is to bring consensus and bridge the current divide between residents and the development community,” she concluded.
The publication is looking forward to Andrea’s fair-minded approach as a welcomed addition to the voice of BocaWatch.
“Andrea’s dedication to the city and her deep involvement in agencies like the Chamber, the Federation, and, the city’s boards and committees makes her an invaluable asset,” said Al Zucaro. “She offers a more moderate temperament as balance for other voices within BocaWatch.”
