Queen Elizabeth is always shown on TV or papers waving her hands to the crowd, attending meetings, going on royal trips and more scenes as she carries out her duties as the head of the British Monarchy. In short, she was always working, so when an old video of her partying with the Royal Family surfaced online, many were delighted to see her laughing and simply having a good time.
Her Majesty is entitled to have fun once in a while too as she worked hard enough for many decades and served her people well. In fact, even at 93, she continues to be a Queen that protects her country, so people were really pleased and happy to see her showing off her dance moves. They are also happy to see such light moments where the Royal family are gathered together and in harmony.
The Queen’s video posted on social media
In the video clip that was posted early this week, Queen Elizabeth could be seen dancing with her immediate family that includes Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Andrew, Princess Anne, and Diana. It was said to have been recorded in 1990 during the Ghillies Ball at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Apparently, the Ball took place while the Queen was on her annual vacation thus, this should have taken place during the summer of that year. Her Majesty’s vacation time is also one of those days when the Royal Family gathered together as they must visit her in Balmoral.
“This clip is in 1990 and from a documentary about Balmoral so it’s definitely not the norm for pictures or videos to ever surface,” part of the description of the video reads. “And yes, picturing Prince William dancing like this is hilarious and I highly recommend it.”
The happier times of the Royal Family
With Queen Elizabeth showing off her dance moves and grooving with her husband, children, and in-laws, people agree that the video is one of those “happier times” for the royals. The Monarchy had been beset with scandals due to divorces and death, but the video reminded people that the family had lighter days too and it was so pleasing to the eye, seeing them together.
As described by The Daily Mail, in the throwback footage, Queen Elizabeth was the center of the dance. She dances gracefully in her blue dress, tiara and red tartan sash. It was mentioned that the Ball was prepared as the Royal Family took part in the dancing tradition in the Scottish country.
