The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) set a ₹14,213 early-redemption value for each one-gram 2019-20 Series VI Sovereign Gold Bond unit, establishing the scheduled payout Friday, Oct. 30, for holders who requested redemption.
The RBI derived the payout from the mean of closing rates for 999-purity gold reported by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. over three business days: Oct. 27, 28 and 29, 2026.
Issued on Oct. 30, 2019, the series became eligible for early redemption after five years, subject to an interest-payment date. The RBI calendar set the request window at Sept. 29-Oct. 21, and that period has closed.
Each unit represents one gram of gold. Holders receive fixed interest at 2.50% a year on nominal value, paid twice annually.
For the same tranche’s scheduled early redemption on Oct. 30, 2025, the RBI set a price of ₹11,992 per unit. It also set ₹14,425 per unit for the 2018-19 Series-II bonds due Oct. 23, 2026, as detailed in our earlier coverage of that redemption. The Series VI payout is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30.
