WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Oct. 11, 2016 -- ReachLocal, Inc., a leader in powering online marketing for local businesses, today announced that CEO Sharon Rowlands was named a Stevie Awards for Women in Business finalist for the Female Executive of the Year category.
More than 1,500 entries were submitted in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year.
Ms. Rowlands has achieved an impressive list of accomplishments on both the personal and business front. In the last year alone, nearly a dozen awards have been bestowed upon both ReachLocal and its CEO. Beyond the many accolades, the recent and successful acquisition of ReachLocal by Gannett, the parent company of hundreds of digital and offline media properties, including USA Today, is yet another striking accomplishment for Ms. Rowlands. In addition, Ms. Rowlands’ much sought after digital marketing and operational expertise led to her appointment to the board of directors for Pegasystems, a software company empowering the world’s leading enterprises with strategic business applications.
Ms. Rowlands is also passionate about helping other women become successful and building other women up as leaders. She established the Wadobe Group, a women’s network, with this goal in mind. The group is a collection of senior business women with the mission of supporting each other and identifying ways to help younger women reach their business and personal goals.
“It’s an honor to be selected a finalist in these prestigious awards, and I’m excited to continue to help local companies and business women alike meet their goals and thrive in 2016 and beyond,” said Rowlands.
Finalists were chosen by more than 110 business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of five final judging committees will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging October 17-26.
“In the 13th year of the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, the judges were very impressed with the quality of each nomination that qualified as a Stevie Finalist. The competition has grown each year because there are so many high-achieving women all over the world, who serve as an inspiration to those who would like to start, grow or lead a business,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards. “We’re looking forward to recognizing these outstanding women in New York on November 18.”
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 18. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend. The event will be broadcast on Livestream and the pre-show from the red carpet will be streamed on the Stevie Awards’ Facebook feed.
