The fifth season of “Rick and Morty” is on its way and the showrunners Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland assured fans that they are not late despite the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, they said that they are even ahead of schedules so there is nothing to worry about.
Now more long waiting time
Fans are sensitive when it comes to release dates of “Rick and Morty” because the show has been known for its really long delay. It can be recalled that the fourth installment arrived after more than two years and fans are telling the showrunners not to make them wait this long anymore.
Surely, Roiland and Harmon heard them and promised the viewers that the long wait will not happen again. Just for the “Rick and Morty” season 5, the showrunners once again affirmed that there will be no long waiting time.
During the recent PaleyFest NY panel for “Rick and Morty,” Dan Harmon gave updates on their progress and shared that they are working on new episodes for season 5. The good news is that they have also started working on the sixth installment.
He said that this was possible because the quarantine actually gave them more time so they are able to focus more. This means that they are working faster compared to previous seasons.
“We’re more on schedule than we’ve ever been,” Syfy Wire quoted Harmon as saying during the event. “It kind of makes you have to focus on the whole process when you don’t have this office environment anymore.”
Spoilers - What to expect in the upcoming season
Harmon also talked about what the viewers can expect in “Rick and Morty” season 5. He dropped a major detail and revealed Morty’s love life will be in focus.
However, fans can’t expect it to be Rebecca because it would be someone else. There is a bit of mystery here since the identity of this girl will only be unveiled in “Rick and Morty” season 5. Could it be someone everyone already knows or a new character?
In any case, Beth’s clone will also be addressed in the new season. It was already predicted that Beth from outer space is staying on Earth and they could become closer at some point. However, it is yet to be determined which is the real Beth and who is the cloned one.
“Rick and Morty” season 5 is expected to arrive in the first half of 2021 with no definite date yet.
