Ripple Labs is setting up an office in Sydney, Australia and expanding its presence to the Asia-Pacific region. It has appointed Dilip Rao as Managing Director of the new subsidiary.
The decision to expand into the region has been due its rising activity in cross-border payments such as remittances. The company wants everyone to participate in the global economy and envisions ample opportunities in the region. It is currently hiring for integration engineers and other crucial roles.
Chris Larsen, CEO and co-founder of Ripple Labs, said that there was a persistent quest for faster payments technologies, for both domestic and cross-border payments.
