Fans of the show already know that Netflix has greenlit “Riverdale” Season 3 and are eagerly awaiting the show’s October launch. Before that, however, there were a few developments that might be worth noting. First is the fact that viewers who want to binge-watch the new season will need to wait until it’s a few episodes in. Then again, there could be a potential crossover with “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” which is just crazy.
It would seem that the cast of the show couldn’t wait for “Riverdale” Season 3 to spend more time together, E! News reports. The lovable crew of misfits has been spotted carousing about town in Vancouver, where filming for the new season has started. The publication listed some of the cast members’ silliest moments captured on film, which makes for quite the heartwarming tribute.
Unfortunately, it can’t be all good news as Netflix has apparently decided to split episodes on a weekly basis. That is to say, each episode will be released once a week, much like other TV shows. Then again, this just makes the anticipation all the more intense.
There’s also the potential for a crossover with the upcoming reboot of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” as Otaku Art notes. Reportedly based on “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” it is apparently set in the same universe as Riverdale. Perhaps “Riverdale” Season 3 will give fans a major treat a la “Arrow” and “The Flash” where Archie and Sabrina can solve a problem together.
As of now, “Riverdale” Season 3 is expected to launch on Oct. 10 on The CW, but it isn’t known when it will come to Netflix. In the meantime, fans can enjoy some photos of the cast from behind the scenes to tide them over the painful waiting period. The streaming service also renewed a bunch of other shows, which include “Arrow” and “Dynasty.”
