SK Broadband affiliate Home & Service will start installing electric vehicle outlet-type charging stations in apartment complexes in Seoul this month, having been chosen for the project by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The outlet-type chargers can easily be installed on walls in the parking lots of apartment complexes or office buildings.
The chargers take up less space than the special electric vehicle charging stations and solve charging spot shortages.
Another advantage is that it could be used at night when electricity use is cheaper.
Home & Service, which oversees SK Broadband's high-speed internet and IPTV installations as well as its repair services, has 6.2 million customers in the country.
The company is taking the lead in SK Group's eco-friendly management practices by expanding the electric vehicle ecosystem.
