SRF Limited’s consolidated profit after tax rose 31% in the September quarter as chemicals and film sales grew, while the Indian manufacturer approved a ₹600 crore battery-grade aluminum foil project.
Profit reached ₹509 crore for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with ₹388 crore a year earlier. Revenue increased 35% to ₹4,904 crore from ₹3,640 crore. SRF’s board approved the unaudited results on Oct. 21.
Revenue in the Chemicals Business rose 25% to ₹2,079 crore, while operating profit grew 10% to ₹528 crore. SRF described refrigerant sales volumes as robust and reported positive pricing momentum for key products in its Fluorochemicals Business.
The company cited shifting global prices, excess capacity in China and geopolitical developments as challenges for its Specialty Chemicals Business.
The Performance Films & Foil Business recorded a 51% revenue increase to ₹2,122 crore and a 73% rise in operating profit to ₹206 crore. SRF said customers’ heavier purchases in the preceding quarter left inventories that tempered film demand, even as packed-film production reached a record. It also reported 25% revenue growth in Technical Textiles.
SRF’s board approved an investment of about ₹600 crore in an Indian facility for battery-grade aluminum foil. Planned annual capacity is about 12,000 metric tons for lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery applications. The company expects to complete Phase I by September 2028 and Phase II by September 2030.
Chairman and Managing Director Ashish Bharat Ram characterized the businesses’ performance as strong despite uncertainty and volatility in the global environment.
SRF has scheduled an investor and analyst call for Oct. 22 at 2:30 a.m. ET (6:30 UTC).
