STARLUX Airlines has raised its Taipei-Prague service to four flights a week and is planning more U.S. flights as it looks to overseas chip investment as a possible source of business travelers.

The Prague route launched Aug. 1 with three weekly flights. STARLUX’s timetable shows a fourth flight beginning Oct. 1, but its published four-flight schedule runs only through Oct. 24. Prague is the carrier’s first European destination.

STARLUX spokesperson Walter Liang said flights to Phoenix and Ontario, California, would each rise from four to five a week starting Dec. 1, MoneyDJ reported. The U.S. increases are planned.

At the Prague route’s launch, STARLUX Airlines CEO Glenn Chai linked the service to expected leisure and business travel in Central Europe. A venture led by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) is building a plant in Dresden, Germany, to make chips for automotive and industrial customers.

TSMC says its first Phoenix factory is producing chips and that it is expanding its Arizona site. In its 2025 annual report, STARLUX identified overseas chip investment as a possible source of repeat demand on North American routes. The airline has not provided route-level figures for chip-industry passengers.

Liang also named Dallas, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C., as destinations under consideration, CNA reported. He gave no launch dates for those routes and described fuel-price volatility as STARLUX’s biggest operational uncertainty.

Beyond its long-haul plans, STARLUX’s booking page lists daily Taipei-Kuala Lumpur flights and says Airbus A330neo service began Sept. 30. The airline’s next Prague schedule will show whether the fourth weekly flight continues after Oct. 24, while its December U.S. timetable will clarify the Phoenix and Ontario plans.
